Overview

The ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Telecommunications Network Engineering) reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have significant experience in specialist technical skills, or managerial business and people management skills.

Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, leading a team or a strategic direction of a business. They apply their skills across a wide range of industries and business functions, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor).

Entry Requirements:

The entry requirements of this course:

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Have English proficiency level IELTS 5.5 [or equivalent as approved by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), or complete and pass HIA English Test

Course Duration and Mode of Delivery

The course is structured to be delivered over 104 weeks comprising of 72 weeks of delivery and 32 weeks of holidays.

The mode of delivery is 20 hours per week on a blended delivery of 14 hours face to face in the classroom plus 6 hours online study.

Assessment Method

Assessment is competency based. Students are required to complete written and practical tasks, which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course.

Students are provided with a Student Assessment Booklet at the commencement of each unit of competency and the Booklet sets out the range and types of assessments that will be sued for this unit.

Pathways to Further Study / Career Opportunities:

Once students have completed the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology, they will be able to seek employment or continue their studies into higher education.

Information will also be provided to students on further training options available to them to further enhance their skill set, such as a Bachelors program in the same field.
