Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Entry Requirements:

The entry requirements of this course for all students

Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions)
or
Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

In addition, meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Have English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or Complete and Pass HIA LLN Assessment

Course Duration and Mode of Delivery

The course is delivered over a period of 52 weeks equating to 36 contact study weeks plus 16 weeks for holidays.

The mode of delivery is 20 hours per week on a blended delivery of 14 hours face to face in the classroom plus 6 hours online study.

Assessment Method

The assessment of each unit of competency will take place during the course. Assessments will vary from unit to unit and may take the form of an open book theory assessment / activities, questioning, assignment, project work, practical activities in a simulated work environment, role plays, case studies, presentation, written reports or a combination of the aforementioned.

Students are provided with a Student Assessment Booklet at the commencement of each unit of competency and the Booklet sets out the range and types of assessments that will be sued for this unit.

Pathways to Further Study / Career Opportunities:

There are many pathways a graduating student could follow after achieving the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management. Candidates may undertake further Higher Education studies or proceed with studies related to their vocation. Information will also be provided to students on further training options available to them to further enhance their skill set such as the Bachelor of Business or other related qualifications. Attainment of this qualification may enable the participant to fill positions in office manager, business development manager, account manager or work as an entrepreneur / business owner.
