Overview

The BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a variety of contexts, across a number of industry sectors. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Project Manager and Project Team Leader.

Individuals in these roles have project leadership and management roles and are responsible for achieving project objectives. They possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical and managerial competencies to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate their own work and/or the work of others.

Entry Requirements:

The entry requirements of this course for all students

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Have English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or Complete and Pass HIA LLN Assessment

Course Duration and Mode of Delivery

The course is delivered over a period of 78 weeks equating to 54 contact study weeks plus 24 weeks for holidays.

The mode of delivery is 20 hours per week on a blended delivery of 14 hours face to face in the classroom plus 6 hours online study.

Assessment Method

Assessment is competency based. Students are required to complete written and practical tasks, which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course.

Students are provided with a Student Assessment Booklet at the commencement of each unit of competency and the Booklet sets out the range and types of assessments that will be sued for this unit.

Pathways to Further Study / Career Opportunities:

Once students have completed the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management, they will be able to seek employment or continue their studies into higher education.

Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include Project Manager.

Graduates of this qualification may undertake further study such as the BSB60720 Advanced Diploma of Program Management or a Bachelor’s program in the same field.
