Overview
This CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support qualification reflects the role of carers working in the in aged care sectors who work in regulated care facilities in Australia. Workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

Entry Requirements:
The entry requirements of this course:
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 11 or equivalent.
- Have English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or complete and pass HIA English Test

Course Duration and Mode of Delivery
The course is delivered over a period of 52 weeks equating to 36 weeks of delivery, 6 weeks work placement and 10 weeks of holidays.
The mode of delivery is 20 hours per week on a blended delivery of 14 hours face to face in the classroom plus 6 hours online study.
Qualification Requirements
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of least 120 hours of work in a regulated care facility in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours, unless otherwise stated.
Course Structure
Total number of units of competency required to receive this qualification is 15, comprising of 9 core and 6 elective units.
Assessment Method
Assessment is competency based. Students are required to complete written and practical tasks, which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course.
Pathways to Further Study / Career Opportunities:
After achieving the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, students may choose to undertake the CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services or other Diploma qualifications.
